Lenten Series 2008
Rev. Hanson’s Lent Series Lent is earlier than usual this year beginning with Ash Wednesday, February 6, and ending with the Easter worship services on March 23. The word Lent comes from the word “lengthen,” referring to the lengthening of days as we near springtime. I invite you all to join our church family as we journey through the Lenten season into Holy week (Palm Sunday, March 16 through Easter Sunday, March 23). During Lent I will be sharing special Sunday morning messages that are meant to help each of us review and examine our faith, as well as consider some of life’s difficult questions. Each week I’ll offer suggested questions for you to take home and consider during your week or come to one of our Faith Builder small groups and talk about these topics with others. Here’s a brief outline of our Lenten Sunday themes:
February 10 – “What Are You Looking for in Life?”
February 17 – “The Only Way I’ll get into Heaven is by the Grace of God!”
February 24 – “Do You Really Want to be Made Well?”
March 4 – “What Might Cause a Christian to Become a Drop Out?”
March 11 – “Are You Really Ready to Die for Me?”
March 16 – Palm Sunday Chancel Choir Cantata – “Great Is Our God”
March 23 – Easter Sunday: “Whom Do You Seek?”
