John “Radio” Russell

Music Programmer for WTPB - LP

John has over 40 years in radio broadcasting experience. He is the author of 15 books, including “Valley Voices,” a history of Chicago and Northern Illinois Radio. Along with programming WTPB - LP, John is also currently hosting for Midwest Ballroom on Chicago radio station WDCB (Glen Ellyn/Chicago). For WTPB - LP, John is the host for Musical Memories and Musical Melodies. John also hosts the “Everyday People” show, and provides news updates, and Rockford community announcements on the “What’s New” program.

Dr. Murray Hanson
